Awesomeness
So...here is a quote from the Mrs. International contest, responding to the "platform" question about the strategies for bringing Starlight house, a kids hospital, to remote areas of the world..."Starlight house is already international, having a presence in the United Kingdom and Australia, so we are already in remote parts of the world."
Wow. That remote? The population of the UK is approximately 59,834,300 people. And in Australia it is about 21 million...
Now...their are lots of layers to the word remote but here is the gist of the definition...
1. far apart; far distant in space; situated at some distance away: the remote jungles of Brazil.
2. out-of-the-way; secluded: a remote village; a remote mountaintop.
The UK is an island off the coast of the continent of Europe...which is only 2598 miles from the Northeastern most part of the US. And even Australia is only 4710 from the closest part of the US to the closest part of Australia. Yes, both a little far...but MAJOR places and one is a frickin' continent! I know that the US is the center of the world and everything, but wow. Learn some geography you silly bitch, especially if you are an "international businesswoman".
Surprisingly, despite this brilliant answer, she did not win...she did, however, come in second.
Hum the song if you know the words...Mr. Greenwood would want you to.
