Remembrance Day

"In Flanders fields, the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place.
And in the sky,
The lark still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amidst the guns below

We are the dead. Short days ago,
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved and now we lie,
In Flanders field.

Take up our quarrel with the foe,
To you, from failing hands we throw,
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die,
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders field."

- Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae, MD
(1872-1918)

Despite the fact that I think all war is a waste of precious life, I am grateful for those who came before us and fought for the rights and freedoms most of us enjoy. Please, take a moment and remember those who sacrificed everything.
"Lest we Forget."
